Where teacher insight meets admissions strategy.

Founded by two current teachers with 25 combined years in the classroom, hundreds of essays coached, and a genuine love for this work.

Our Story

We didn't set out to start a business. We set out to help kids to learn and grow and figure out who they are.

We met teaching high school in New Hampshire and bonded over our love of library books and side hustles. We were the teachers revising college essay drafts on our lunch breaks and staying late because a kid almost had it.

At the school where we taught, students completed their college essays with their English teachers. That was us. We sat with hundreds of students through the brainstorming sessions, the rough drafts, the seventh revision, and the moment something finally clicked. We kept thinking: most families can't access this kind of support on their own. And most consultants can't replicate it, because it comes from something that only happens after years of actually teaching teenagers. So we started Summit because we know firsthand that students are so much more than GPAs and test scores — and we couldn't stop helping them prove it.

What began on our lunch breaks has grown into a full college consulting practice — college lists, testing strategy, recommendation advising, interviews, essays, and everything in between. Every student works directly with Jackie or Maggie, start to finish. No handoffs, no subcontractors. Just two teachers who have never met a student they couldn't help find something worth saying.

Meet Our Co-Founders

I studied History at Dartmouth and earned my master’s in teaching, with certifications in History, English, and Special Education. I’ve also been an alumni interviewer for Dartmouth. Over the past decade, I’ve helped hundreds of students find their voice - whether in an APUSH classroom debate or through their college essays.

What I love most is the process — helping students turn chaos into clarity, and watching that moment when an idea clicks. I bring structure, humor, and the occasional reminder that commas aren’t life or death.

I hold a master’s in English Education and a passion for helping students feel confident, organized, and proud of their work. I’ve also worked in higher ed and as an adjunct professor for College Composition courses. For the past fifteen years, I’ve helped students turn messy ideas into writing that actually sounds like them.

My favorite part of the process is brainstorming — that moment when a tiny story becomes the essay that fits. I bring the same patience and humor to essay coaching that I do to the classroom.
