Your Student's College Application,
Done Before Senior Year Starts
Eight 1:1 sessions, unlimited written feedback, and focused expert support on the personal statement, Common App, and supplementals for three schools — finished before September 1.
You have done the research.
You know where your student wants to apply.
Now the application itself has to be as strong as the student behind it.
You have a sense of where your student is competitive and where they are reaching, and the list is coming together. What you are staring down now is the actual work of applying: the personal statement, the supplementals for every school on the list, the Activities section, all of it…and you know that work is going to take a lot more than a few weekends in September.
Most families underestimate how much is involved until they are already behind. The personal statement needs six to eight rounds of revision before it is ready. The supplementals need to be specific and researched, not generic. Every section of the Common App needs to tell the same cohesive story. That is not a weekend project. It is months of focused, strategic work.
That is exactly what the Core Package is built for.

How It Works
Eight sessions. Done before September 1. They submit their strongest story.
-
This is where we get to know your student - and parents join in as well so we can get to know your family, too. We review goals, priorities, and strengths. We all leave with a clear picture of who your student is and a plan for everything that comes next.
-
Before the first live session, your student completes Summit's signature self-paced course — six teacher-led video lessons and 10+ guided brainstorming activities designed to surface meaningful, original ideas. They arrive at their first session with real material to work from and a clearer sense of what their story actually is.
Once the working meetings begin, your student will work with their advisor through every stage of the personal statement — from shaping a rough idea into a structured draft all the way through to a final essay that is undeniably, authentically theirs. Most personal statements go through six to eight rounds of revision. We stay in it for as long as it takes, because we know that is what it actually takes.
-
We work through the Common App together — the Activities List, Honors and Awards, and Additional Information — making sure every section is strategic, specific, and telling the same cohesive story as the essay. These are the sections where most students leave points on the table. Your student will not.
-
Full support for your student's top three schools — brainstorming, drafting, and finalizing every supplemental. Every essay reflects genuine insight, specific research, and a clear sense of why your student is a great fit for the school. The kind of essay that makes an admissions officer feel like your student truly belongs there.
-
A final read-through of everything before your student hits submit. Fine-tuned language, corrected errors, a check for consistency and voice across every piece. Your student walks into senior year with the hard work behind them.
This is for your student if…
Your student is ready to apply — you have a college list, a testing plan, and a clear sense of where they are headed — and what you need now is expert support on the applications themselves
They are applying to selective schools and need feedback from people who know what actually moves the needle in a competitive admissions process
You want the bulk of this process done before senior year starts, not hanging over their head through September, October, and beyond
This is not the right fit if…
You still need help with the bigger picture — college list strategy, testing guidance, recommendation advising, or interview prep. That is our Comprehensive Package, and we would love to tell you about it
You are looking for someone to do the work for your student (we will not do that)
You need support for more than three schools — additional schools can be added on, but if your student is applying to ten schools and needs full supplemental support (and more!) across all of them, the Comprehensive Package is built for that
What Families Are Saying
I couldn't have done this without Maggie. She put so much effort into communicating with me and giving suggestions every step of the way. My applications are good as they are because of her feedback and support.

FAQs
Who will my student work with?
1
Every student works directly with one of Summit's co-founders — Maggie Finn or Jacklyn Angell. We’ll match you during the onboarding process based on your school list and our expertise. Both of us are current high school teachers with twenty-five combined years in the classroom. Before starting Summit, we guided hundreds of students through the college essay process as part of our English curriculum. We know what strong student writing looks like, we know how to push a teenager to do better work without killing their confidence, and we know the difference between an essay that sounds coached and one that sounds real. No handoffs. No subcontractors. Just us and our decades of expertise supporting students to put their best selves forward.
When does the process start and end?
2
All Core Package sessions begin in June and must be completed before September 1, 2026. This timeline is intentional — starting in June gives your student enough time and space to do this work well, before the pressure of senior year makes everything harder. Families who wait until August find themselves compressed and stressed. Families who start in June walk into senior year with the hard work behind them.
What does "3 schools" mean for the supplementals?
3
One school means one unique application. We provide full supplemental essay support — brainstorming through final polish — for each of your student's top three schools. This includes school-specific essays, Honors College essays, and program-specific essays submitted directly to the admissions committee. Multi-campus systems like the UC system count as one school unless individual campuses require distinct additional essays. If your student needs support for more than three schools, our Comprehensive Package is built for that.
Will the essay sound like my student?
4
Yes. That is non-negotiable for us. We are both members of the Independent Educational Consultant’s Association (IECA) and adhere to strict professional ethics. We do not ghostwrite. We do not over-edit. We do not use AI to generate or rewrite any part of your student's essay. And if your student submits a draft that was written by AI, we will know — and we will call it out, because an AI-generated essay will not survive an admissions review. We ask the right questions, give honest feedback, and guide your student to say what they actually mean in their own voice. Both Maggie and Jacklyn are experienced teachers — they know how to make student writing stronger without stripping the personality out of it.
What if we need more than the Core Package covers?
5
The Core Package is focused on the writing and application execution. If your family also needs support with college list strategy, testing guidance, recommendation letter advising, and interview prep — plus supplemental essays for up to ten schools — our Comprehensive Package is built for exactly that. Book a free consultation call and we can walk you through both options together.
Is there a payment plan?
6
Yes. The $3,000 fee is split into two payments of $1,500. If you need a more flexible payment plan, please reach out to us - we’re happy to find a way to make it work.
